Watkins Glen, New York in the Finger Lakes of New York!
11th year in the running at the Birthplace of Road Racing!!

This is a premier LiMBO camping event sponsored by the Empire VW Camping Club!
All VWs are welcomed. Westies are not required; but fun to camp in.

We have our own loop at the Watkins Glen State Park – No reservations required – pay-as-you-go when you get there (~$20/night).

Discover the beauty of the Watkins Glen Gorge and beautiful surrounding Finger Lakes Region of New York.
Activities for all, including antiquing, hiking, biking, caravanning to wineries, museums and local brewery, wine tasting, and campfire festivities.

Communal breakfast burritos served Saturday morning.
Pot Luck Saturday night - bring a dish to share. T-Shirts will be available & Raffles and door prizes.
Vendors are welcome .
(Optional) Racetrack events on SUNDAY September 23rd - We will take our VWs on the Watkins Glen International Racetrack for a three laps on Thunder Road. ($15 per vehicle).
Come on the track or in the grand stands.

Blurb from last years (2011) campout

Over 100 vans/busses. A little rain at night on Friday but stopped by the time we did the breakfast burritos. Warm the rest of the time with lots of sunshine on Sunday for the racetrack. It was darn right hot. 45 VWs on the racetrack - what a hoot. Everyone had fun. Thanks to all that made this 10th year event a great success. Till next year, Joel

10th Annual Westies at Watkins

Join the Empire VW Camping Club for a camping weekend and a few laps around “Thunder Road” @ Watkins Glen International Racetrack

Friday Sept 23: Campout at Watkins Glen State Park – check-in and pick a site in Onondaga Loop – We have a special camping area for our group so NO ONLINE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED (Estimated $25 per night).

SATURDAY Sept 24: FMBC-style - Breakfast burritos will be served for all Sat. Morning. Activities include hiking in the gorge; bike riding, wine tasting, museum visits and touring around Finger Lakes.
Pot Luck Dinner/ Campfire/fireplace and door prize festivities.

SUNDAY Sept 25: Thunder Road Tours on Watkins Glen International racetrack (Estimated $15 per Vehicle for several laps).
