Cost to run a webpage.

Hello Volks,
I understand its not cheap to run a webpage, if I am wrong, please correct me. and seeing this is a dues free club, i imagine somebody is footing the bill. So I talked to the local VW dealer here in Binghamton, Empire VW, the parts manager is going to put together some "stuff" to raffle off to benefit the website. So if this is going to help I need some input from some volks like you on how to ship the cheapest, like somebody picking it all up and taking it to a campout, or... ? I would love to deliver, but i work 7 days a week, and the little bit of free time i have is spent doing household chores. not to say i won't meet someone somewhere to drop off items.
My thought would be an auction style sale here on items. just post your reply with what your willing to donate for the Item.
And hey, stop by your local VW dealer and see what you can pick up to help support the club...

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I just had to finish installing a anti-span mod to this forum.

Well, right now Joel Cort fronted the money for the web host.

You said "I understand its not cheap to run a webpage". Well, it probably wouldn't be if the club had to pay for services of building a web site. We don't .. I can build it. The only real money cost is what Joel fronted for the web space, it was $47.40 for the year. We were lucky. At the time of renewal there was a sale going on. Normally it is double that. But, we shopped around and found this low cost web hoster whose prices are lower than most.

What we would like to do is PAY Joel back and raise some money for the next few years. I personally would like to be able to pay for a couple of years worth of web hosting.

So, any and all ideas for raising cash is welcome and definitely needed. I am unclear of what you have in mind. But your efforts are surely appreciated.

WOW... That is excellent.

Joel is away for an extended vacation in Cali-forn-ee-yay with a family reunion of sorts. I am sure he will be pleased.

Are you going to the Syracuse VW show?

I did check out the photos. Very Excellent. I will be at the show among a lot of the Empire VW camper folks. I hope to see you there. Come over and introduce yourself. Lets see if we can drum up some ideas of how we can raise money using your donations.

BTW. This forum... umm.. bulletin board has the feature to upload photos into a post. IF you scroll down when posting a reply you will see where it says "upload attachment" .
Here is a photo of me. Oh Yes, and some girl that was glad to meet me.... happens all the time... in my dreams.
